Village Butcher was founded in 1980 in the Oak Bay neighbourhood of Victoria, British Columbia and has consistently provided the highest quality locally-sourced and responsibly-raised meat to discerning customers from all over greater Victoria.
Our mission is to provide top quality Island-raised meats to our clientele while increasing awareness and appreciation for whole animal nose-to-tail butchery, and to promote and support our partner farms, producers and purveyors, sharing their stories with our clientele.
We are a group of butchers, chefs, cooks and students that share a passion for great meat and meat-cutting while bringing a fresh innovative approach to an age-old profession.

Variety At Its Finest
Top quality is what you’ll get at Village Butcher. We source our meats locally from reputable farms here on Vancouver Island and BC’s interior. That means optimum freshness from farm to dinner table!
We prepare all of our meats on site including all cuts of pork, lamb, beef and chicken, a large variety of sausages in natural casings, marinated meats, baked goods, bone broths, and specialty items such as haggis and black pudding. We even prepare raw pet food!
Grass Fed & Hormone Free
Village Butcher is dedicated to offering select meats from reputable farms here on Vancouver Island. Beef is pasture-raised and grass-fed, chickens are free-range, and all meats are growth-hormone-free. Antibiotics are only used when necessary. Organic meat is sourced from farms in B.C.’s interior.

At Village Butcher we are passionate about happy, healthy animals thoughtfully sourced from responsible local farms. We buy grass fed beef and lamb, heritage breed pork and free-range poultry from Vancouver Island farms that we know and trust. The relationships we have made with these farms are the cornerstone of our business.
